Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Soak the black soybeans in water for about 2 hours.
  2. Coarsely chop the celery, onion, green bell pepper, and tomato, and thinly julienne the bacon.
  3. Add cooking oil to a pan, stir-fry the minced garlic to release the aroma, then add the ground beef and stir-fry.
  4. Add cooking oil to the pan and stir-fry the bacon, onion, celery, tomato, and green bell pepper in that order.
  5. Put the brown rice, stir-fried beef, and chicken stock in a pot and boil until the brown rice is half cooked.
  6. Add the soaked black soybeans, stir-fried vegetables, bay leaf, thyme, and cayenne pepper and simmer gently over low heat until the brown rice and black soybeans are fully cooked.
