Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Trim the cabbage, steam it in a steamer for 10 minutes, then cool it.
  2. Drain the oil from the tuna in a sieve, and squeeze the water out of the tofu and mash it.
  3. Finely chop the onion, scallion, and garlic.
  4. In a pan, mix the doenjang, gochujang, plum syrup, chopped onion, scallion, garlic, and water and bring to a boil, then add the tuna and tofu and stir-fry, and add the sesame oil and sesame seeds.
  5. Place rice on the steamed cabbage and roll it up.
  6. Cut the cabbage rolls into suitable sizes and top with the tuna tofu ssamjang.
💡 TipThe nutty flavor of the tuna and tofu and the sweetness of the onion make a delicious ssamjang without adding sugar.
