Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Wash the kimchi clean, soak it in cold water for 30 minutes, drain, squeeze out the water thoroughly, and trim off a bit of the stem end.
  2. Cut the cucumber and bell peppers into 5 cm-long strips, wash the perilla leaves and radish sprouts and drain, and separate the crab sticks into strands.
  3. Peel the shrimp, blanch in boiling water until cooked, drain, and halve lengthwise.
  4. Heat a pan over low heat with cooking oil, pour in the beaten egg, and make an egg garnish (jidan).
  5. Overlap the kimchi leaves one by one and spread them wide on a bamboo rolling mat.
  6. Place the egg garnish, prepared vegetables, and shrimp on the kimchi, roll it up, and cut into bite-size pieces to finish.
💡 Tip- Soaking the kimchi in water and blanching the imitation crab and shrimp reduces sodium intake.
