Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Lightly blanch the whelks in hot water, drain, and cut into quarters.
  2. Cut the onion and perilla leaves into thin strips, thinly slice the carrot to the same length as the onion, slice the chili peppers and green onion on the diagonal, and cut the cabbage 1-2 cm thick.
  3. Cut the apple and pear into thin strips, and cut the canned peaches, banana, and pineapple into small cubes.
  4. Mix the chili flakes, minced garlic, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, plum syrup, ginger juice, and sesame oil evenly into the gochujang to make the seasoning sauce.
  5. Add the prepared whelks (1), vegetables (2), and fruit (3) to the seasoning sauce, mix well, and top with toasted sesame seeds to finish.
💡 TipThe flavors of assorted vegetables and fruit go together with the seasoning to replace saltiness while stimulating the appetite.
