Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Clean the crab and cut into bite-size pieces.
  2. Put the dried kelp and crab in 1 cup of water and boil to make 2/3 cup of broth.
  3. Wash the cabbage and tomato and cut into 1 cm x 1 cm pieces.
  4. Wash the green onion and slice on the diagonal.
  5. Remove the crab used for the broth and pick out the meat.
  6. Dissolve the doenjang in the broth, add the cabbage and tomato and bring to a quick boil, then add the picked crab meat, green onion, and minced garlic to finish.
💡 TipScrub the crab shell with a brush, remove the top shell and gills, then cut the body into pieces. - Reducing the amount of broth in the doenjang soup to 120 to 150 g per serving reduces sodium intake.
