Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut in half, and trim the bottoms so they sit flat.
  2. Scoop out the top of each potato with a spoon.
  3. Season the ground beef with the measured ingredients.
  4. Coat the inside of the scooped potatoes with starch and fill with the seasoned beef.
  5. Pour in enough stock to cover the potatoes and boil.
  6. When the dish is done, pour in a starch slurry to thicken.
💡 TipSteamed dishes are usually seasoned at 2 to 3% with soy sauce or salt, but this steamed beef and potato dish is cooked with little soy sauce and still tastes well balanced.
