Steps
Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.
- Wash the surface of the kabocha squash well and dry it, cut off the top at the stem, scoop out the inside with a spoon, and sprinkle with salt.
- Mince the shrimp, wrap the tofu in a cotton cloth to remove the moisture and mash finely, finely mince the soaked shiitake mushrooms and green and red bell peppers, and slice the scallions.
- Mix the ingredients from step 2 together and season with salt, minced garlic, ground sesame seeds, sesame oil, and white pepper to make the filling.
- Remove the moisture from the inside of step 1.
- Lightly sprinkle flour on the inside of step 4 so it coats evenly.
- Fill with the prepared filling, cover with the cut-off stem top as a lid, and steam in a steamer over rising steam for about 20 minutes, then cut into 4 to 6 pieces and serve.
💡 TipYou can also put rice and nuts inside the squash.
Diet and allergy labels are estimated from the ingredient list. Check labels if you have an allergy.
