Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Stir-fry the anchovies in a dry pan.
  2. Add olive oil and cooking wine to the lightly stir-fried anchovies and stir-fry until soft.
  3. Soak the peanuts in cold water for 20 minutes, then drain in a sieve to remove the moisture.
  4. Slice the dried chili pepper.
  5. Heat a mix of olive oil, sesame oil, and soybean oil in a pan, add the minced garlic to release the aroma, then add the peanuts and chili pepper and stir-fry.
  6. Add the stir-fried anchovies, oyster sauce, doubanjiang, and corn syrup, mix evenly, and sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve.
💡 TipStir-frying anchovies slowly over low heat keeps them soft rather than hard. Soaking the peanuts in water lets them absorb moisture and makes the texture much softer.
